Locked out right now? Four steps
- Is anyone or anything at risk inside? A child, an elderly person, someone unwell, a pan on the hob: call 112 first. Then call me.
- Call or WhatsApp +34 663 48 41 13. Tell me the street, the type of door and what happened. You'll talk to me, not a call centre.
- Get the price and the time. I give you a fixed price for the opening and tell you how long I'll take, checked on Google Maps. Nothing moves until you say yes.
- Have proof ready. Your ID plus a rental contract, or your booking confirmation and the host's OK if it's a tourist flat. If your ID is inside, we sort it out once the door is open.
If you'd rather write than talk, tap the WhatsApp button on this site. It asks to share your location and sends me a Google Maps link with your message, so I know exactly where you are.
Where I work: central Madrid and Toledo old town
I have two bases: Alcorcón, right next to Madrid, and Fuensalida, in the province of Toledo. From there I cover the places where most visitors and expats stay.
Central Madrid
Old apartment blocks, heavy street doors, tourist flats on every floor. I work all over the centre: Sol & Gran Vía, Malasaña, Chueca, Lavapiés, La Latina & Palacio and Huertas. The central Madrid page explains what each one is like for doors and locks.
Toledo
Toledo's old town is a different job: old wooden doors, old locks and narrow streets. Read more on the Toledo locksmith page.
Staying somewhere else? Call anyway and I'll tell you honestly if I can get to you.
What it costs, in plain numbers
Opening a door costs €150 to €250, with the call-out included. Where you land in that range depends on the door (a standard one, a puerta blindada or armoured door, or a reinforced acorazada), the lock, whether it's just pulled shut or double-locked, and how far I have to travel.
You get that price on the phone before I leave. Late at night or on a Sunday it's the same rule: I tell you the price first, and that's what you pay.
If the lock needs replacing after the opening, I quote it on the spot and only fit it if you agree. The full list is on the prices page.
More than lockouts
Most calls are people stuck outside, but I also:
- Change the bombín (the lock cylinder) after lost keys or a move.
- Fit anti-bump cylinders, which resist a common burglary trick.
- Replace whole locks, including high-security locks for armoured doors.
- Fix and open shutters and garage doors.
- Open safes.
- Make a door safe after a break-in. Take photos first and, if you're reporting it, don't touch anything until the police have seen it. My invoice helps with the insurance claim.
Why people call me
- We speak the same language. No guessing, no translation app at midnight.
- One person. The voice on the phone is the person who turns up at your door.
- No surprises. The price is agreed before I set off. Extra parts only if you say yes.
- Any hour. 24 hours, every day, holidays too.
- Paperwork done right. A proper invoice (factura) every time.
I also check that you live or are staying at the address before I open. It takes a minute and it's what stops a stranger doing the same thing to your door.
Short guides for visitors
Spanish doors can be confusing. These guides explain the basics in plain English:

Call, I come, I open
Call or WhatsApp me
Tell me what happened, what kind of door it is and where you are. A photo of the lock helps. Before I leave I tell you:
- The price of the opening, fixed.
- When I'll arrive, checked on Google Maps right then.
I come myself
No call centre. The person you speak to is the person who turns up.
If the door isn't what you described, I tell you before I touch anything and you decide.
I open the door
Without breaking the lock whenever possible. If it has to be broken, I explain why and ask first.
You pay what we agreed and get an invoice.
What I guarantee
The price I give is the price you pay
The opening price agreed on the phone doesn't go up when I arrive.
No parts without your OK
Cylinder, lock or reinforcement: quote first, then your yes. Say no and you only pay the opening.
Invoice, always
For every job, even at 3 a.m. You'll need it for your insurance or your landlord.
