"From" means the starting price. The final figure depends on the part you choose and your door, and I tell you before fitting anything. Prefer Spanish? See precios.
What changes the price of a door opening
The range is €150 to €250 because no two doors are the same. Four things decide where yours falls:
- The door. A standard door is the quickest. A puerta blindada (armoured door) takes more work, and an acorazada (fully reinforced door) more again.
- The lock. Basic cylinders open faster than high-security ones.
- How it's shut. If the door only closed on the resbalón (the latch, when you pull it behind you), it's simpler. If it's double-locked with the key, it takes longer.
- Distance. I set off from Alcorcón for Madrid or Fuensalida for Toledo, and the trip is built into the price.
Tell me these four things on the phone (or send a photo of the door on WhatsApp) and you'll get one exact figure.
What's included
- Travel to your door. There's no separate call-out fee on top.
- The opening itself, done with care to avoid damage wherever possible.
- A quick check that the lock still works once the door is open.
- An invoice (factura) with my details, for you, your host or your insurer.
Not included unless you ask: new parts. If the cylinder is broken or you've lost the keys and want the lock changed, I quote it there and then. You can say no and keep the old one.
How to avoid a surprise bill
Lockout scams usually work the same way: a cheap price on the phone, then a much bigger one at the door. Protect yourself with any locksmith, not just me:
- Ask for a total figure before they set off, not "from" or "it depends".
- Ask whether travel is included.
- Don't agree to a new lock until you've heard its price.
- Ask for an invoice. If they hesitate, call someone else.
With me, the price for the opening is fixed on the call. Night, Sunday or bank holiday, you hear the price first and that's what you pay.
Three typical calls, and how the price works out
Pulled the door shut, keys on the table
A standard flat door that only closed on the latch, not far from where I am. This is usually the simplest case and sits towards the lower part of the range.
Armoured door, locked with the key
Very common in Madrid flats: a puerta blindada that someone locked on the way out, then lost the keys. More work, so the price goes up within the range. If you want the lock changed afterwards because the keys are gone, I quote that separately.
Holiday flat, late at night, a longer trip
The time of day doesn't hide anything: you still get one figure on the phone before I leave. The distance and the door decide it, and you decide whether to go ahead.

- Describe the door and how it's shut. I give you the price and the arrival time, checked on Google Maps.
- Have your ID and rental contract, or booking plus host's OK, ready to show me.
